Scammers & Hackers
So, what's a scammer?According to the dictionary, a scammer is "a person who swindles you by means of deception or fraud". To us Habbos, this means someone who lies to you in order to get hold of your furni! There are many tricks which a scammer can use in order to do this. Doubling furniture - an old trick, where the scammer tries to convince you that he or she can take your furniture and hand back twice as much as you handed over. This is an absolute scam, and there is no way to double your furniture, and if you see someone offering to do this for you, they are a scammer. Report them immediately.
Fake Habbo websites - you may stumble accross a website which claims to give you credits, or furniture. The site tells you to log-in, and you're done. Sounds safe, right? Wrong. The log in box is actually a form which sends all of your log in data to the website owner. The best way to avoid scams like this is to only enter your password into the official habbo site. If you aren't sure, check the address bar, and make sure that it says "http://www.habbo.co.uk". "I'll give you credits if you give your your password!!" - Sadly this is not possible. By giving someone your password, they will simply log in to your account, and steal your hard-earned furni! To avoid this, simply do not tell you password to anyone |
