The Worldwide Habbo Fansite - About HabboEarth
About HabboEarth
2003-2004 The beginning
Before HabboEarth, Mocolate had various fansite ventures. Starting with a site called 6lemons, in 2003, which then changed into HabboCafe, in October 2004 - making it one of the oldest fansites around.
2005 HabboCafe becomes officialThe site grew in popularity and became official in the first half of 2005 - relatively quickly. HabboCafe continued to grow in size throughout 2005, eventually launching a popular user area.
2006 Habbucks.com is bornCome 2006, HabboCafe was renamed Habbucks.com with a Starbucks theme... Mocolate had become obsessed with Starbucks coffee! Throughout the following 12 months, Habbucks built up its own unique image and style including a unique content management system.2006-2007 General improvementsIn 2007 Habbucks continued to grow in popularity, although unfortunately Giro left the site early in the year. Amorz joined the team and would henceforth be co-owner. Habbucks went through various layouts in months that followed and now had over 200 pages of content and 1,000 users registered on the members area. The staff team numbered over 30 staff. Times were good. 2007 Host problems
In August 2007, Habbucks' hosts had serious problems and the hosting account became suspended. After a long period with no improvements, Kecio (now sole owner) decided to move hosts in order to salvage the site. It worked, and Habbucks was reborn, although with no staff, no visitors, no layout no content.. zilch. A small team was formed and work began on recreating Habbucks. Habbucks then became very successful again with an active forum life and content.Meanwhile, HabboEarth.com had just been launched and was slowly gathering an audience, but nothing compared to the size of Habbucks in its prime-time. 2008 Mocolate comes back
2009 Kecio disappears...
After Mocolate had left, Habbucks just seemed to die out, and although Mocolate did not work for Habbucks anymore, he hated to see it dying out like this, and decided to relaunch it himself as the domain was about to expire. The site was all ready to relaunch, but there was a problem with domain registration, and an annoying parking site got the domain instead. Mocolate then decided to scrap Habbucks' layout, merge the content with HabboEarth and launch again in 2009 - nearly 5 years after the original HabboCafe venture.
August 2009 So there you have it, 5 years later, HabboEarth is born. |
