It's never too late to start celebrating the Winter Games. The 2010 Winter Olympics started on Friday Feb 12th in Vancouver, Canada. Since Valentine's day was HUGE, we decided to give you (and us!) a little breather before we began yet another celebration. But now the time has come to enjoy the Olympics with some competitions and games of our own! A quick investigation of the sudden drop in temperature in the hotel followed, and it turned out that the team of ducks that were maintaining the balmy weather in Habbo Hotel had all decided, to a feather, to go off to Peking for a week-long vacation. (I have a sinking feeling we won't be seeing them again, though.) In the meantime, while we attempt to look for suitable replacements to handle our temperature issues in Habbo, we've decided that we might as well take advantage of the snow and the frozen rivers and lakes around the hotel by opening up the Winter Habbolympics. At the end of the Winter Habbolympic Games, the team with the highest number of Gold Medal Stickers will be awarded the Gold Medal badge. Been eating your carrots lately? As tigers in training, your observation skills must be excellent. You have to be able to tell the difference between a stinky fish and a fresh fish, sunrise and sunset, and you must know the answer to the question 'What is the sound of one hand clapping?' As such, this next exercise will help you develop your observation skills. There are 2 images below, both showing Habbos waving at a Chinese New Year parade. Room for Improvement
What's new in Habbo? Those pesky blockers! A lot of Habbos always complain about room blockers — you know, those pesky pixels that refuse to move in a queue, or want you to pay just to walk inside. Well, we've finally done something about it. Starting today, all private rooms will allow Habbos to walk through each other my default. You can't stand in the same spot as another Habbo, but if you encounter someone who's blocking your way while you're crossing the room to grab a drink from a Pura Bar, then you can just glide right through them, like a ghost! Room owners now have the right to turn blocking on or off, in case you need to run games where blocking is required. Completely following custom and tradition we've released a range of Chinese New Year Furni which includes this loveable beast! Tame your inner beast... Have you found peace with your inner Tiger? We're here to help everyone attempting to locate their zen with our second day lesson, Strength! Lesson 2: Strength Join us for a competitive 'pushing' game today, February 17th from 4pm PT to 5pm PT! The goal of the game is to have two teams of 5-8 Habbos stand on a side of the room. Each side is color coordinated with Yellow, or White. Once you enter, choose a side then change your clothing color to match that side.
